Molasses Crinkles

     Ingredients

        ·             1 ½ sticks of soften

        ·              1 cup of brown sugar

     ·             1 egg

     ·             4 T. molasses

     ·             2 ½ cups of flour

     ·             2 tsp. baking soda

     ·             ¼ tsp. of salt

     ·             ½ tsp. cloves

     ·             1 tsp. cinnamon

     ·             1 tsp. ginger (or 1 tsp. more of cinnamon )

Directions

Mix the butter, egg, sugar, and molasses together in a large mixing bowl. Then slowly add in the dry ingredients. Once your cookie dough is completely mixed together,

 

 Roll the dough out into little balls and dip in granulated sugar. Then use your thumb to press down the center of the cookie.

 Bake in the oven at 400° F for about 7-10 minutes.

This recipe makes about 5-6 dozen small cookies.

 Apple Crackle

 

·        6-8 medium apples

·        1 T sugar

·        1 tsp. cinnamon

--------------------------------------

·        1 cup of flour

·        1 cup of sugar

·        ½ tsp. cinnamon

·        ½ cup butter, softened

·        1 egg, slightly beaten

·        1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 F; butter a 9” ceramic, deep-dish pie plate.

 

Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples and place them in the buttered pie plate with one tablespoon of sugar and one teaspoon of cinnamon.

I used golden delicious canned from last fall.

 

 

 

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar and cinnamon.

 

   Add butter, egg and vanilla and mix well with a spatula until thoroughly combined.

 

    

Evenly spread the batter in the pie plate over the apples.

 

 

 

Bake for 45 minutes, or until the top is browned and the apples are bubbling.

 



 

Let cool and serve,

This dessert is best when served with vanilla bean ice cream ;)

Hey guys! I thought I'd film my first time working with charcoal. I don't think it turned out too bad... Drawing with charcoal turned out to be pretty simple. For the most part it's just adding on layers and layers. The harder the charcoal is, the darker it is.
