 Apple Crackle


 

·        6-8 medium apples

·        1 T sugar

·        1 tsp. cinnamon

·        1 cup of flour

·        1 cup of sugar

·        ½ tsp. cinnamon

·        ½ cup butter, softened

·        1 egg, slightly beaten

·        1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 F; butter a 9” ceramic, deep-dish pie plate.

 

Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples and place them in the buttered pie plate with one tablespoon of sugar and one teaspoon of cinnamon.

I used golden delicious canned from last fall.

 
 
 

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar and cinnamon.

 

   Add butter, egg and vanilla and mix well with a spatula until thoroughly combined.

 

    

Evenly spread the batter in the pie plate over the apples.

 

 

 
Bake for 45 minutes, or until the top is browned and the apples are bubbling.
 

 
Let cool and serve,
This dessert is best when served with vanilla bean ice cream ;)
